PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp visible image stable in density, by carrying a magnetic toner to a developing zone using a fiber brush and magnetic action of magnets, and bringing it near or into contact with an electrostatic image-holding material. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic image-holding drum 1 and a sleeve 4 are moved relatively, and the surface of the drum 1 is rubbed with a brush-like magnetic toner formed with a fiber brush 5 and a magnetic roller 3 to develop the electrostatic latent image into a visible image. The optimum development conditions can be set easily by properly selecting fiber length of the brush 5 and intensity of the magnets 3 to change toner layer thickness on the sleeve 4 in large degree of freedom. Triboelectrification between the toner and the brush 5 occurs during conveyance on the sleeve 4 of the toner, permitting a large quantity of stable charging little affected by temperature, etc. to be obtained, and a stable visible image of high density to be formed. |
