PURPOSE:To avoid the attachment of toner to the areas excepting the recording paper and to prevent the toner contamination of a transfer belt, by providing an electrostatic charged area within the size of the recording paper after detecting the said size and limiting the toner image of an intermediate transfer belt within the size of the recording paper. CONSTITUTION:A marker 14M is put on an electrostatic charge carrier 14, and the X, Y coordinates is set on the carrier 14. Then the size of a recording paper 11p is detected, and a matched image corresponding to the paper 11p is set on the carrier 14. The coordinates of this matched image is stored in a controller 12, and the shaping charging is carried out by means of the coordinates to apply the electrostatic charging only to the region of the matched image. After this, a recording image is formed by an image pickup device 10. Thus, a toner image is formed within the recording paper size on an intermediate transfer belt 19. This toner image is synchronized with the tip part of the matched image to roll out the paper 11p. As a result, the toner image on the belt 19 is transcribed without fail to avoid the attachment of toner at the areas other than the paper 11p. Thus the toner contamination is prevented for the belt 19. |
