PURPOSE:To absorb energy possessed by incident waves effectivively, by employing a float-like mechanism that is ocillated in a single mode and a reflecting mechanism associated with an energy absorbing mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A damper mechanism 2 and a recoiling mechanism 3 are disposed between a float 1 nd a fixed part 10, and another float 5 moored by anchors 6 and mooring cables 7 at a position located backwards of the float 1 in the advancing direction of waves is used as a reflecting mechanism. In case that waves having a unit amplitude come from a negative direction shown in the drawing, the amplitude AR of waves reflected back to the negative direction by the float 1 and reflecting mechanism 5 is represented as the sum of the amplitude of divering waves produced by lateral rolling of the float 1 and that of turbulent waves produced by the float 1 and reflecting mechanism 5. |
