PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of frictional heat, by using a bearing for a vertical shaft pump that is constituted by arranging layers of a carbon bearing material and layers of a rubber bearing material alternately in the circumferential direction of the bearing surface of the bearing for journalling a turning shaft, so that the sliding surface is lubricated by way of solid lubrication. CONSTITUTION:A bearing material 12 is composed of layers of a carbon bearing material 12a containing a solid lubricant and superior in self-lubricating performance and layers of a rubber bearing material 12b superior in wear-resisting performance, which layers are arranged alternately in the circumferential direction of the bearing surface. In case that the bearing 8 is operated under waterless condition, solid lubricant such as carbon and molybdenum disulfide contained in the carbon bearing material 12a stickes to the surface of a turning shaft 1 and is conveyed also to the sliding surface of the rubber bearing material 12b, so that not only the sliding surface between the turning shaft 1 and material 12a but also the sliding surface of the material 12b are lubricated by way of solid lubrication. Therefore, it is enabled to prevent generation of frictional heat, to reduce wear of the bearing and to improve reliability of operation of the bearing. |
