PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem of an H.264/AVC decoder that the entropy decoding is a potential bottleneck in the decoding, because it is required to be performed prior to all of the processing in a decoder.SOLUTION: An initialization method of a context includes at least a step for judging whether or not it is the head of the row of Largest Coding Unit (LCU) in a slice, a step for identifying whether or not the slice type is the I slice type, and a step for initializing a CABAC (Context-adaptive binary arithmetic coding) corresponding to the slice type. When it is the head of the row of LCU in the slice, and the slice type is not the I slice type, the initialization step initializes the CABAC context corresponding to the slice type, based on the information for determining the initialization method.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 34 |
