<p>PURPOSE:To achieve diagnosis of amplitude and phase of an element antenna with a simple method accurately, by changing the control of a variable phase shifter of each element antenna while keeping all the arrays in operating state and measuring a synthesized power level. CONSTITUTION:An opposing antenna 9 is located opposingly to a phased array antenna. A control circuit 11 controls a variable phase shifter 2 in receiving electromagnetic waves from the antenna 9 and sequentially change the set phase of each element antenna 1. A measuring operating circuit 12 measures the all array synthesized output to calculate the amplitude and phase of each element antenna 1. A diagnostic circuit 13 compares the amplitude and phase to be calculated with those of reference. As to the element with phase shift in comparison with a reference phase, the control of the corresponded variable phase shifter 2 is changed to correct the shift. As to an element having almost zero amplitude, since the corresponding antenna 1 and the variable phase shifter 2 may be in failure, the replacement is taken.</p> |
