The invention relates to a clamping device for firmly clamping a plate, primarily the mounting plate of an adjustable-height vice, with respect to a supporting column. Known methods for firmly clamping the supporting column often lead to snug, flat contacts between clamping pieces and the supporting column not occurring if specific production tolerances are exceeded. The damage resulting from this, as a consequence of a linear contact, is avoided according to the invention in that the clamping piece can be arranged with a recess, which is matched to the circumference of the column, precisely opposite the apex of a through opening, provided in a profile, for the column, and can be pressed against the supporting column by means of an eccentric shaft, which is self-locking. The avoidance of the risk of a linear contact which is achieved in this way permits high contact pressure forces which are achieved in that, for the purpose of clamping, the clamping lever must always be pulled upwards from a position pointing downwards, so that the clamping forces can be applied. |
