A hermetic seal for cells compising a flexible cover having a peripheral skirt (3) sealed to the open end of the cell's container and an inner disposed flange (5) defining an opening (7) through which a terminal (9) of the cell protrudes and is hermetically sealed to said flange using a layer (11) of glass of ceramic bonded to both the terminal (9) and the flange (5).
