PURPOSE:To enable the titled heat exchanger to have a higher heat transfer efficiency by a method wherein the flow of water in the heat exchanger is deflected by means of a nozzle so that energy is afforded to the water in a heat exchange chamber in the circumferential direction. CONSTITUTION:The water introduced into the heat exchanger through an inlet 24 is deflected by the nozzle 30 so that the water in the heat exchange chamber 29 is given energy in the circumferential direction before the velocity energy of the water from the inlet 24 is converted into the pressure energy thereof. As a consequence, the flow velocity of water discharged from the nozzle 30 is kept unchanged over a long distance as compared to a case where no nozzle is provided whereby the flow velocity 31 of the water relative to a coolant pipe 25 becomes high and the efficiency of heat exchange between the coolant and the water increases. |
