PURPOSE:To obtain an optical fiber cable having high strength by fitting a mouthpiece which has corrugated projecting parts on its internal circumferential wall, rotatably to an extruding machine, guiding a tension member to the center between the projecting parts of an extrusion hole, and extruding it together with resin over rotation synchronizing with the mouthpiece. CONSTITUTION:On the internal circumferential wall of the mouthpiece 40 of an extruding machine, corrugated projecting parts 44 are provided, and the mouthpiece 40 is fitted rotatably. The tension member 26 of an optical fiber cable is guided to the center between the projecting parts 44, and then extruded together with resin while rotates synchronizing with the rotation of the mouthpiece 40. Consequently, a spacer 20 has the tension member 26 at the projecting part and also has recessed grooves 24. In grooves 24, optical fiber cores 22 are arranged and a protective layer which covers the projecting parts 28 and recessed grooves 24 of the spacer 20 is provided, thus manufacturing an optical fiber cable. In this way, the cores 22 and tension members 26 are arranged spirally to obtain the cable which is free of application of excessive force to each core and has large strength. |
