<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect the presence or absence of copy sheets in a copy sheet storage case and also detect whether its top cover is opened or closed by a single photoelectric switch in response to the movement of detecting elements by providing a bottom plate pressing copy sheets against a roller and the top cover of the case with fillers, each having a detecting element. CONSTITUTION:When a copy sheet P is present on a moving bottom plate 8 and a top cover 11 is correctly in the closed position, a shutter leaf 28 of a detecting plate 25 is positioned in the opposing gap 30 in a photoelectric switch 29 and therefore the switch 29 sends the controller a signal for continuing the copying operation. When there is no copy sheet on the bottom plate 8a, filler end 23 falls into an opening 24 and as a result the detecting plate 25 rotates counterclockwise and the shutter lead 28 moves downward from the gap 30. When the top cover 11 is not in the closed position, the detecting plate 25 is caused to rotate clockwise by the filler 31 and moving plate 37 and moves upward from the gap 30. In either case the photoelectric switch 29 sends out a signal indicating the impossibility of copying operations.</p> |
