摘要 PURPOSE:To produce a titled steel member of high oxidation resistance and abrasion resistance by immersing and holding the steel material in a molten boric acid bath contg. a Va group element or Ti then immersing and holding the same in a molten boric acid bath contg. Cr. CONSTITUTION:As the 1st stage, a steel material is immersed and held in a molten boric acid bath contg. a Va group element or Ti, or is electrolyzed in this bath with the base steel material as cathode. Then, with the carbon existing in the steel material base as a carbon source, an intermediate coating layer consisting of the carbide layer of the Va group element or Ti is formed on the surface of the steel material base. Next, as the 2nd stage, said steel material is immersed and held in a molten boric acid bath contg. Cr or it is electrolyzed in this bath with the base steel material as cathode. Then, the extreme surface coating layer consisting of the carbide layer of Cr is further formed on this intermediate coating layer. The respective layers bond firmly to each other, and the surface layer has high oxidation resistance and the intermediate layer has high abrasion resistance.
