<p>The transformer consists of an insulating former (1) fitted with end check-plates (7,8). An intermediate separator wall (9) delimits two winding compartments (4,5). A three-walled outer casing (2) encloses the windings and shelves (39,40) at either end which form basis for the electrical contacts. Terminal posts fit into slots formed in the end bases. The posts are made of folded metal stampings. They have flat ends and lower, V-shaped sections which push-fit into conical-bored barrels fitted to the end bases. The outer casing has two ribs (45) which allow the unit to be fitted with an outer magnetic shield and form fixing bars to attach the transformer to a printed circuit board. The central partition (11) stands above the outer coil windings to present a larger air-path insulation. After winding and insertion and soldering of the electrical contacts, the whole unit is immersed in a potting resin.</p> |
