<p>The mechanism is intended for forming, e.g. flan or pie bases from dough. It comprises a table carrying a raisable plate provided with openings in the shape of these bases, and a dough container which has a transverse slot in its bottom and is movable over the surface of the plate to fill these openings after which the plate is raised to leave the dough portions on the table surface for removal. The container may be moved to and fro over the plate, pref. at a speed adapted to the viscosity of the dough, and the slot may be formed by the space between two resilient wiper blades. The table surface may be covered by a paper sheet which is supplied from a roll and used to transfer the dough portions on to a removable baking tray. Producing flan or pie etc. bases from dough. The arrangement permits the normally labour-intensive manual operation to be partly or wholly mechanised.</p> |
