PURPOSE:To bind a superhard alloy roll of poor toughness having a rolling surface to the body of a steel rolling roll without damaging the same in the stage of mounting said superhard alloy roll to the outside circumferential surface of the body of said rolling roll by using a roll binding member contg. an elastic material therein. CONSTITUTION:A superhard alloy ring 2 provided with a rolling surface 21 is fitted onto the outside circumferential surface 14 of a body 1 of a steel rolling roll. Side pressure plates 5, 5' are disposed on both sides of the sloped side faces of the alloy ring 2, and roll binding member 31 contg. an elastic material 32 is inserted with the adjacent pressure plates 33, and is tightly secured by means of lock nuts 4. Next, the lock nuts for the member 31 are removed, and a roll side wall 15 is pressed by the restoring force of the material 32 contained by the material 31, whereby the ring 2 is firmly bound to the body 1. It is possible to bind the ring 2 of poor toughness without chipping the same. |
