The hydraulic converter rotor (2) has a sleeve (5) secured to it and partly separated from it by an expansion gap, so as to prevent an external radial load being transmitted from the output shaft (4) to the distribution portion of the rotor. This design allows greater radial loads on the output shaft and reduction in the clearance necessary between the rotor and its distribution boss (3).
