Methanol, dimethyl ether or a mixture thereof is catalytically converted to a product which is condensed, and ethylene is recovered from the gaseous product phase. Unreacted methanol and dimethyl ether are recovered from the aqueous product phase by volatilization with low pressure steam and are recycled. |
