PURPOSE:To prevent the crack of an active material and enhance the continuousness of the active material, by arranging the drying process, subsequent to the cutting process of plates. CONSTITUTION:A long and slender strip 1 of lead alloy sheet is disposed so that it is fed into an expanding device 3 in the shape of coil 2. The strip 1 expanded by the expanding device 3 is fed into a shaping device 4, where non-expanded central part of the strip 1 is punched by presses 5 and 5' to form a selvedged part and is adjusted uniformly toward the width direction. After that, the strip 1 is filled with a paste by a paste-filling machine 6, cut into each plate by a cutter 7, and fed into a drying furnace to obtain a completely finished plate. Thus, the plate is cut at first and then dried, for this reason the crack formation on the active material can be prevented. |
