In a coin-operated gaming machine with at least one rotary body for determining a win, which can be driven by a motor of load-dependent speed and which can be stopped at catch positions by a brake activatable by a random-number generator which can be called up, the random-number generator containing a ring counter which can be advanced, during the call-up, by a high-frequency generator and, after the call-up, by tachometer pulses synchronous with the rotary body to be braked, as far as a counting point, the output of which activates the brake, call-up signals which appear are always put through to the random-number generator at a point in time dependent on a predetermined phase relation of the tachometer pulses. <IMAGE>
