The invention relates to a pipe expansion joint and comparable hoses and vessels with interior and exterior layers of EPDM. The reinforcing insert consisting of fibres possesses an enveloping adhesion layer which consists essentially of EPDM, silicic acid or silicates and a resorcinol aldehyde eliminating agent in fixed limits.
