A piston vacuum pump is described which is driven by a tappet by means of a camshaft of a motor vehicle engine. Via a nozzle and a non-return valve, oil, which precipitates in an oil trap pocket arranged in the drive chamber, is drawn into a working chamber of the cylinder in order to ensure adequate lubrication.
