PURPOSE:To provide the optimum sail area and camber corresponding to relative wind direction and relative wind velocity by forming a blade type sail having camber and asymmetrical left and right portions. CONSTITUTION:When wind from the port direction is utilized, the rear edge sail 2 at the left side is adapted to travel along a guide rail 5 to the position shown by the solid line. At this time, a rectifying sail 3 is also adapted to travel to the position shown by the solid line. Next, the right side rear edge sail 2' is adapted to travel slightly forward along a guide rail 5' and located therein. Then, a back pressure side front edge rectifying sail 4' closely attached to the front edge of a sail body 1 is protruded. By the above-mentioned operation is provided an asymmetrical blade having a large deflection over the whole sail, and energy is blown in the boundary layer at the rear side of the sail by the front edge rectifying sail 4' to prevent air flow from separation and further eliminate air turbulence at the sail belly surface side by the rectifying sail 3 so that large lift is generated with small drag by providing a source at the front edge of the rear edge sail 2. |
