An anhydrous battery or cell comprises an anode, a cathode, an electrolyte and an anhydrous solvent, the cathode comprising a mixture of p-doped polyacetylene in admixture with 5-75% by weight of an electrically conductive material e.g. graphite or carbon black. Electrolytes include hexafluorophosphate, perchlorate etc. and suitable solvents are propylene carbonate, sulfolane etc. |
