<p>PURPOSE:To improve the responsiveness of a piston rod of an intermediate cylinder in a hydraulic pressing-down device for a rolling mill and to increase the working efficiency of the rolling mill by providing a balancing spring means to said rod. CONSTITUTION:In a rolling mill constituted of work rolls 1, 2 and reinforcing rolls 3, 4, an oil hydraulic type main jack 7A constituted of a screw down ram 6 and a cylinder 7 is mounted to the lower reinforcing roll 4, and an intermediate cylinder 14 is provided between the same and a control valve 8 for controlling the oil pressure in the cylinder 7. The one oil chamber 14A of the cylinder 14 is connected to the above-mentioned cylinder 7 and the other oil chamber 14B to the valve 8. A detector 10 for detecting rolling stages is provided to the piston rod 15 of the cylinder 14, and the valve 8 is driven. In this case, a balancing spring 17A acting against the force pressed by rolling load is mounted to the rod 15 of the cylinder 14, whereby the main jacks on the driving side and the operating side are made commonly controllable and the working efficiency is improved.</p> |
