PURPOSE:To reduce the constituent elements of a motor and lower the cost, by composing the side plate of a picture reader, of magnetic substance. CONSTITUTION:A flat motor 12 is composed of a rotor member 42 with a fitted magnet plate 40, a coil retaining plate 38 provided with a coil 34, and the like, and is used for a picture reader. Accordingly, a motor 12 is pivotally supported by a set of bearings 28 and the side plate 10 of the picture reader. In this case, the side plate 10 is used also as a yoke plate constituting a magnetic circuit for the motor 12, and consists of magnetic sections 30. Then, a covering member 48 is spirally fitted on the side plate 10 so that said rotor member 42 and coil retaining plate 38 may be surrounded with the covering member 48. As a result, the thickness of the motor 12 can be reduced and the motor can be miniaturized. |
