PURPOSE:To generate power through utilization of water flow, by installing two water turbines symmetrically at the front and back of a ship in the manner that the water turbines can be turned vertically by the aid of the support of respective arms. CONSTITUTION:When a front water turbine 23 supported by an arm 21 is turned by the flow of water, rotation of the water turbine 23 is transmitted to a chain 30 via a chain wheel 28 and a chain 31, so that a generator 13 is turned via a change-speed means 15 and a speed governor 14. A rear water turbine 3 also turns the generator 13 in the same way. Since arrangement is such that the two water turbines can be moved vertically by menas of chain blocks 32, 33, they are suspended on the deck of a ship during travelling of the ship and at the time of repairing of the water turbines. Further, since the two water turbines are installed symmetrically, the weight of the ship can be well balanced, and at the same time, output of the turbines can be increased. |
