PURPOSE:To facilitate a fitting even to an existing hull by forming the outer surface shape of a bulbous bow beforehand made of FRP in a mold, covering the adjoining section with a seal off member, and cutting at the connecting section with a hull outer plate to match the outer plate shape. CONSTITUTION:A bulbous bow 2 is composed of a pair of symmetrical shells 7, 8, and the individual shells 7, 8 are formed in a spherical outer surface shape beforehand made of FRP in a mold. A step 6 is formed at the adjoining section of the individual shells 7, 8 concaving inward, and a seal off member 5 made of FRP is attached to an outside concave 60 to connect both shells 7, 8 together, then a bulbous bow with a smooth outer surface is obtained. An outer periphery 9 is formed by extending the shells 7, 8, and is cut at the connecting section 11 so as to match the hull shape during a fitting to the hull. Therefore, the bulbous bow can be easily fitted to an existing hull. |
