BULKHEAD TYPE HEAT EXCHANGER

PURPOSE:To make it possible to clean the heat transfer surface of the titled heat exchanger during the operation of the heat exchanger by a method wherein a water sealing device serving as a gas seal and a sewage discharge device at the same time is provided in the heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:The heat transfer surface of the bulkhead type heat exchanger is cleaned by a rinsing liquid injected from an upper cleaning nozzle 3 and if necessary, a front nozzle 4 and a rear nozzle 5 provided in a casing 2. The rinsing liquid after use flows on a bottom plate 6 of the heat exchanger so as to be collected at a center exhaust port 7 and then flows into a water sealing tank 9 through a water sealing leg 8. The water sealing leg 8 has a length required to meet the static pressure of a gas in the heat exchanger and dirty water stored in the water sealing tank overflows to be directed to a discharge liquid disposal device so that the heat transfer surface of the heat exchanger is cleaned during the operation of the heat exchanger.
