PURPOSE:To improve the dispersibility and the running smoothness and to suppress dropping-out of powder, by allowing a magnetic paint, where iron oxide magnetic powder containing Co is used, to contain a higher saturated fatty acid and a dialkylsulfosuccinate. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic paint where 0.1-5pts.wt. dialkylsulfosuccinate indicated general formula[I]and 0.1-5pts.wt. higher saturated fatty acid having carbon number 10-18 such as lauric acid and stearic acid are added to 100pts.wt. iron oxide magnetic powder where gamma-Fe2O3, Fe3O4, or an intermediate compound between these compounds is allowed to contain Co is applied on a base material to obtain a magnetic recording medium. |
