Clamping sleeve for the connection of tubular rod portions with round cross-section, which is rolled up from a rectangular metal plate and has a longitudinal slot as compensation means for elastic compression and the external diameter of which is slightly larger than the internal diameter of the tubular rod portions to be connected to one another and can be pushed into the ends of the tubular rod portions to be connected to one another. On its edges delimiting the longitudinal slot, the clamping sleeve has protrusions which project outwards beyond the external diameter of the clamping sleeve, are formed by arched, sharp-edged edges or saw-tooth-shaped edges and press and dig into the inner casing surfaces of the two tubular rod portions to be connected to one another.
