PURPOSE:To discriminate either a normal grain or an inferior grain in unpolished rice accurately, by irradiating light having an optional wavelength to every one grain of a prescribed quantity of the unpolished rice and comparing the transmissivity of the light with a threshold level. CONSTITUTION:One grain of unpolished rice is positioned at an opening 3 of a light shielding board 2 and is moved to the arrow mark direction and then, is irradiated by the light of lambda=670nm wavelength from a light emitting element 4. The output of a photodetecting element 5 received the light which is passed through the unpolished rice is sent to a signal selector 8 through an amplifier 6, an effective signal selector 7 and is compared with a threshold level signal Tt from a threshold level set device 9. When an electric signal is larger than the signal Tt, the grain is decided as a normal grain and the signal is sent to a normal grain counter 10. Further, when a total number counter 11 attains a prescribed number, the counted number of the counter 10 is inputted into the counter 11 by a computer 12 and the mixed percentage of an inferior grain in the unpolished rice is counted and then, is displayed on a display device 13. |
