The settling appts. for refining water is mounted horizontly when the sludge is pptd. and then the settling appts. is slanted to remove the pptd. sludge. The settling appts. (figr.) is composed of (I) a pair of rectangular frame(6) which is made by joining a rectangular frame(1) has a plurality of flanges(2") and the other rectangular frame(1') has a oblique side(4) (II) a large number of settling plates(7) which is gaped by spacer(9) and(III)ro tating shaft(13) which is mounted at the center(3) of the frame(1).
