Quick release snap-on pipe connector - has spring-loaded collet and radial locking pins

The snap-on connector has a male spigot (13) fitted to one pipe and a socket assembly (1) fitted to the other. The socket assembly consists of a bush (2) screwed to the socket (1) with a sealing washer (3) between them. The bush has a set of three bal bearings (11) equi-spaced around it's circumference at the inlet end. A set of three equi-spaced radial locking pins (12) is housed in the flange of the bush close to the sealing washer (3). A stepped collet (8) is fitted over the bush and retained with a circlip (10). The collet is held against the circlip by a spring (9). In this position the collet locks the ballbearings and the locking pins onto the spigot.
