PURPOSE:To obtain a transferred image of good quality, regardless the kind of recording paper, without the destruction of a transferred image even if a heating temperature is high by removing an inverted image from a thermal transfer sheet and by causing the remained ink image on the thermal transfer sheet after removal to transfer to a recording paper. CONSTITUTION:An ink donor sheet 1 made of a base paper 1B of which one side is coated with a heat soluble or thermal sublimatable ink is caused to transfer an inverted ink image to an ink removal opposing roller 7 by a thermal head 8 to which inverted image signals are supplied. The ink removal opposing roller 7 has a surface of silicon rubber and ink 1A1 is transferred to the surface in ideal condition and it is scraped off by a blade 11A. While, ink 1A2 remained on the sheet 1 is pressed against a heating roller 12 while it is kept contacted with a recording paper 2. Since the heating roller 12 is generating a sufficient amount of heat, ink 1A2 is caused to strongly penetrate into the surface fibers of the recording paper 2. |
