The adjustment device (1) for back supports on backrests of seats, armchairs and the like has a plate-like shaped part (3) which is fixed in an articulated manner on a spring part (4) and can be adjusted in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the backrest and in the vertical direction. The adjustment of the spring part (4) takes place by means of a threaded bolt (12) which engages with a threaded bush (11) and by means of a handle (15) in the transverse direction relative to the backrest. Additionally, the spring part (4) is displaceable along a slot (6) in the frame part (2). The threaded bush (11) is mounted in a disc which has at least one leaf spring (20) whose ends bear against the frame part (2) with spring tension. In this manner, no screw connection or tool is required in order to hold the leaf spring securely connected to the disc. <IMAGE>
