The base of a stand comprises an upright member 10 having pairs of axially spaced apertures 11 near its lower end, the apertures of each pair extending inwardly from opposite sides, and a plurality of feet 13 each being of V-shape and having a pair of out-turned toes which engage in the apertures of each pair so as to strain the limbs of that foot and thereby cause a firm interengagement of the toes in the aperture and a consequentially firm base for a stand. <IMAGE> |
