SHAPING UNIT FOR LARGE TYRE

PURPOSE:To perform shaping from tyres of a small size to tyres of a large size without using auxiliary metallic fittings by providing a pair of claws for locking and unlocking a bead ring for green tyres at the inside position and the outside position respectively according to the diameter of the bead ring. CONSTITUTION:Several claws 17 are mounted on a rod cover 16 with the same pitch on a circle and it is made possible to interlock them through a gear 20 and a ring gear 21. A claw 17 is rotated by 90 deg. through a gear 23 by rocking a lever 22 with a hydraulic cylinder, etc., and a bead ring 4 for green tyres with relatively small diameter at the inside position with respect to the center of a shaping unit and a bead ring 4 for green tyres with relatively large diameter at the outside position with respect to the center of the shaping unit are locked and unlocked.
