PURPOSE:To provide a probing contact for ultrasonic diagnosis which is excellent in efficiency and is prevented from the occurrence of damage, by a method wherein a given cut recess is formed in a piezo-electric ceramic plate which has electrodes at both sides thereof to form a plural number of piezo-electric element blocks, and a 2-layer acoustic matching layer is formed on an upper electrode layer. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 12 and 13, connected to each other, are formed on both surfaces of a piezo-electric ceramic plate 11, and a flexible cable 14 is connected to the lower electrode 13 at each of blocks A, B, C... which is formed into a plural number of piezo-electric ceramic elements to hold the flexible cables by means of a common packing 15. A large number of cut recesses 17 are cut at given intervals in the plate 11 and in also the upper electrode 12 so that the recess extends in the proximity of the electrode 13, and fine recess 18, cutting into the backing 15, are formed in a recess 17', out of the cut recesses 17, positioned between the adjoining blocks A, and B, C. After the upper electrode 12 of the element 16 so cut is connected to a lead wire 9, a first acoustic matching layer 20 is dividedly adhered with a glass material, and a second matching layer 21, made of synthetic resin such as epoxy, acryl, is further adhered thereon. This prevents the occurrence of damage of the electrode 13, the occurrence of crack and peeling of the layer 20, and causes efficient entering of ultrasonic waves and efficient detecting of a reflected wave. |
