PURPOSE:To increase the possiblity that a transmission speed need not be reduced and to improve transmission efficiency, by making a training check again by inserting a fixed equalizer into a transmission system if the training check at some transmission speed is unsuccessful. CONSTITUTION:A facsimile equipment is provided with fixed equalizers EQ1 and EQ2 for equalizing circuit characteristics, and whether the fixed equalizers EQ1 and EQ2 are inserted or not is prescribed by CCITT.T30. Even if a training check at a 9,600bps transmission speed is unsuccessful, the fixed equalizer EQ1 is inserted to make the training check again at 9,600bps and if it is still unsuccessful, the transmission speed is reduced to 7,200bps and the fixed equalizer EQ1 is extracted, thereby performing the training check again. |
