PURPOSE:To produce a chassis rear section structure advantageous in the strength and the cost, by employing a gusset in place of a rear end cross member thereby reducing the weight. CONSTITUTION:The up-down input is transmitted to a gusset 6 then distributed to a rear upper panel 2 and a rear fender 4 and absorbed, but since the up-down input will be applied in the direction to peel the joint between an upper rearward flange 6a and a lower rearward flange 2a and not effective for the transmission of the power, only a portion of the up-down input is transmitted from the gusset 6 to the panel 2 while the up-down input is applied in the shearing direction of the joint between the side forward flange of the gusset 6 and the rear end downwardly extended section 4a of the rear fender 4, the majority of the up-down input is transmitted from the gusset 6 to the rear fender 4. |
