PURPOSE:The titled composition that is prepared by mixing inorganic fiber, pulp- like substance of p-oriented aromatic polyamide polymer and a solid lubricant of carbon fiber or the like in a specific proportion, thus showing high wearing resistance and mechanical strength without fading. CONSTITUTION:(A) 5-70wt% of inorganic fiber and/or powder, preferably in case of fiber, L/D (L is length; D is diameter) is more than 5 and diameter is 0.1-50mum; in case of particles, the particle size is less than 500mum, such as glass fiber or kaolin, (B) 5-70wt% of pulp of p-oriented aromatic polyamide polymer containing more than 80mol% structural units of formulaIand II such as poly-p-phenylene terephthalamide and (C) 1-30wt% of a solid lubricant of carbon fiber, carbon black, graphite powder and molybdenum disulfide are mixed and they are bound with a thermosetting resin to give the objective composition. EFFECT:This composition is free from generating strange noises, when used in brakes. |
