PURPOSE:To prepare an L-phenylalanineoxidase having an action different from that of the existing L-phenylalanineoxidase, by cultivating a bacterium belonging to the genus Pseudomonas. CONSTITUTION:A bacterium such as Pseudomonas sp. P-501(FERM-P 5887) belonging to the genus Pseudomonas, having both an action of decarboxylating oxidatively L-phenylalanine in the presence of oxygen to form phenylacetamide and carbon dioxide gas, and an action of deaminating oxidatively L-phenylalanine to form phenyl pyruvic acid, ammonia, hydrogen peroxide, capable of producing L-phenylalanineoxidase, is inoculated into a nutrient medium containing preferably L-phenylalanine or its analogue, and a novel L-phenylalanineoxidase is collected from the culture. |
