PURPOSE:To botain a member for a sliding part which has a high PV value with excellent wear resistance and sliding properties, by melt-spraying a metallic or nonmetallic film on the surface of a metallic base material partially to form a sliding surface. CONSTITUTION:A melt-sprayed film, e.g., a ceramic melt-sprayed film 2 is scattered on the sliding surface 3 of an optional metallic base material, e.g., a hardened steel 1 to realize the coexistence of the surface 4 of the base material 1 and the surface 5 of the melt-sprayed film. A slider 6 is slid on the surface 3. The film 2 is porous and contains a fluid like a lubricant liquid, etc. The fluid is also contained in a boundary 7 between the surfaces 5 and 4. When the slider 6 moves toward B, the fluids on the surface 4 and the boundary 7 lubricate the sliding part. At the same time, a difference of the degree of wear degree is genereted between the surfaces 4 and 5 in accompany with sliding and the fluid stays on the surface worn to higher degree. This fluid is pressed into the surface having a smaller wear by the wedging effect to greatly increase the pressure of a fluid film at a part where it is pressed-in. As a result, the friction force is reduced and the load resistance is improved to ensure the excellent lubrication. |
