PURPOSE:To obtain the castings of high accuracy having no bending and distortions in a full mold casting method wherein an expandable resin is used as an investment casting prototype, by reinforcing the investment casting prototype beforehand with the reinforcing materials. CONSTITUTION:Iron wires 2 which are the reinforcing materials are molded in such a way as to conform to the outside circumferential shape of an investment casting prototype 1 of foamed polystyrene, and are fixed by means of the adhesives 3. These are buried in the molding sand 7 in a molding flask 4 having many through-holes 5, and the inside of a vacuum chamber 6 is evacuated with a vacuum pump. Next, the melt of an Al alloy is charged through a sprue 8. The prototype 1 is made robust in the case of making moldings of intricate shapes and thin walls as well, by reinforcing the circumference or the proper positions of the investment casting prototype with the reinforcing materials in this way. The bending and distortions of the end parts or the entire part are averted during the work of burying the mold in the sand 7. |
