Air-cooled steam power station using the direct system, preferably for large unit capacities, in which the exhaust steam from the turbine (1) of the turbo-generator set is fed by a plurality of exhaust steam lines (2, 4, 6; 3, 5, 7) to groups, subjected to the cooling air flow and connected in condenser fashion, of cooling elements (K) and to groups, connected dephlegmatically downstream of said elements, of cooling elements (D), which groups of cooling elements are mounted on an air condensation stage (13, 19) above the machine housing (15.0) of the turbo-generator set. The residual steam from cooling element groups (8 and 9) connected downstream of in each case one exhaust steam line of a pair (2-3, 4-5, 6-7) of exhaust steam lines is fed via a manifold (10) to downstream cooling element groups (11) which are jointly pressurized and connected dephlegmatically. In this case, in multiunit installations, adaptors (18) of the air condensation stage (13, 19) without cooling element groups are inserted between two mutually adjacent units (B1, B2), with the formation of free air suction interspaces (Z). <IMAGE>
