The disclosed carbon rod assembly includes a first carbon rod piece (3) having a projection (5) at one end thereof and a second carbon rod piece (3) having a socket hole (6) at one end thereof, and external and internal screw threads (7) of 1/2 to 3 turns are formed on the projection (5) and socket hole (6) respectively, so that the first and second carbon rod pieces (3) are firmly connected by inserting the projection (5) into the socket hole (6) and thereafter rotating the carbon rod pieces (3) relative to each other.
