PURPOSE:To increase sensitivity of a pyroelectricity effect by giving heat energy locally for crtstallization to an amorphous thin band consisting of a ferroelectric substance as a main component, and forming crystals, whose C axes are vertical to the thin band, in the shape of dot matrix. CONSTITUTION:A pyroelectricity material 3 mainly comprising a ferroelectric substance such as Pb5Ge3O11, PbTiO3 is put into a quartz tube 1, and melted by heating with a heater 2. The pyroelectricity material 3 is jetted out from the top of the quartz tube 1 in the gap of a pair of stainless steel rollers 5, being pressed by inert gas such as Ar, N2. The pyroelectricity material 3 is quenched and solidified by the rollers 5 to form an amorphous thin band 6. Laser beam 7 having 1-2mum diameter are radiated two-dimensionally at given intervals to the amorphous thin band 6 to form crtstals, whose axes C are vertical to the amorphous thin band, in the shape of dot matrix. Therefore, the crtstal axes having the highest pyroelectricity factor can be utilized to increase sensivity. |
