PURPOSE:To carry out dressing automatically by fixing a rotatable whetstone holder at a horizontally pivotable reciprocating arm tip and by providing a mechanism which forwards a whetstone one pitch at the start of dressing action. CONSTITUTION:Dressing of an inner circle cutter of a doughnut shaped cutter 1 is carried out by cutting a dressing whetstone 4, which is fixed at the tip of a pivoting arm 5, by means of a cutter 1. A cylinder 9 and a piston 10 are fixed to the pivoting arm 5 and a whetstone holder 3 can be reciprocated therewith. At the end of forwarding movement, the whetstone holder 3 is rotated by 90 degrees by means of a male screw 15 and a female screw 16 fixed at the end of a central axis 8. By this rotary motion, a bevel gear 28 is rotated, a screw axis 26 is rotated via a one way clutch 27 forwarding a nut 29 and forwarding the whetstone holder 3 and a whetstone 4 by one pitch. |
