PURPOSE:To enhance the cooling efficiency with agitated liquid by fitting a discshaped float in a cooling liquid lead-in duct protruding into the cooling liquid chamber, slidably, and by moving it vertically by the inertia force generated when the engine operates. CONSTITUTION:A cooling liquid lead-in duct 11 is inserted along the axis of the piston rod 5, and a check valve 6 is fixed to its top. A disc-shaped float 3 is provided and, at its periphery, a cooling liquid duct 10 is furnished and the central part is fitted in the cooling liquid lead-in duct 11 slidably and born by springs 7, 7a. The float 3 is held at the center of the cooling liquid chamber by the springs 7, 7a when the engine is at a standstill, and moves vertically by the action of inertia force when the engine is in service to agitate the cooling liquid well owing to the pumping effect with the aid of the check valve 6. Accordingly, cooling of the piston 1 can be made surely and efficiently with simple construction. |
