<p>A container is filled with particles, flakes or strips of a radar reflector material and is propelled into the atmosphere by a hand or mortar gun. A time delayed detonation bursts the container to release the contents. These float and return to the ground under their own inertia. A parachute acting as an aerial brake may be used to provide a rocking movement. Double strips may be used, one superimposed on another with a propulsive charge between them which when detonated deploys the strips. The system is to reflect X-band radar frequencies and is usable for air, sea or land rescue.</p> |
